LIMITED LP: 300 COPIES

They performed on cruise ships, and in restaurants, conquering in the 70s the whole Scandinavia. Theirs was also the carnival in the Warsaw Forum Hotel. And in the intervals between their contracts they recorded the Polish best ever funk-jazz album. Do you then know the Show Band?

The band of which (until this day) even the slightest mention could not be found on the Internet, was set up in 1972 by bass player Anatol Wojdyna. The organ player Maciej Głuszkiewicz and drummer Jan Mazurek played with him. In this line up, The Show Band in 1974 found enough time to record intriguing library music for the national Documentary Filmmakers Group. Dominated by the Hammond organ, the music was moving at break-neck speed towards the dynamic boogie, soothed with the lyrical bossa novas and enchanted the listeners with funky groove. One of the compositions “The Tiger’s Step” (Tygrysi krok) was regularly used in TV series, feature films and newsreels.

“Punkt styku” (The Point of Junction) is the material never published before, recorded in mono technique in 1974 and remastered from the original tapes and supplemented with an outline essay on the history of the band. The album appears as a CD in a limited edition of 300 LPs.
