Chandelier – Timecode

Niemiecka grupa Chandelier, po dwóch doskonałych albumach i kilku latach przerwy zmieniła skład i nagrała płytę, która okazała się jej pożegnaniem: „Timecode”. Teraz ten doskonały album powraca, poszerzony o drugi krążek pełen rarytasów z całej historii zespołu.

Po niezwykle udanych płytach „Pure” i „Facing Gravity” Chandelier postanowił nieco odświeżyć swoją formułę – zaktualizował brzmienie, utwory zyskały na wyrazistości, ale wciąż porywały sympatyków neo-proga. Takie kompozycje, jak „Ferengi Lover” czy „Half Empty, Half Fool” stały się obowiązkowymi punktami koncertów zespołu. „Timecode” był niestety również pożegnaniem Chandelier ze sceną do… teraz. Na dodatkowym krążku, oprócz szerokiego wyboru rarytasów z przeszłości (nagrania demo, koncertowe, wersje akustyczne…) znalazły się bowiem trzy zupełnie nowe i świeże kompozycje. Grupa postanowiła się także reaktywować na jednorazowy występ na festiwalu Night of the Prog w Lorelei.

Wszystkie nagrania zremasterował Eroc, kiedyś perkusista Grobschnitt, dziś ceniony reżyser dźwięku, mający na koncie pracę m.in. z nagraniami Gentle Giant, Spooky Tooth czy Klausa Schulze. Całość uzupełnia booklet z nowym szkicem na temat historii zespołu, tekstami wszystkich utworów oraz niepublikowanymi zdjęciami.

After releasing two albums and several years of break, the German rock band Chandelier made some line-up changes and recorded an album that proved to be the group’s farewell: “Timecode”. Now this excellent record makes a comeback, extended by a second CD filled with rarities from the entire history of the band and… new music!

After the highly successful albums “Pure” and “Facing Gravity”, Chandelier decided to slightly refresh its formula – the sound was updated, songs gained harder edge – but it still managed to capture the fans of neo-progressive rock. Compositions such as “Ferengi Lover” or “Half Man, Half Fool” became the mandatory elements of the group’s concerts. Unfortunately, “Timecode” was also Chandelier’s farewell with the music scene – until now. The bonus CD, besides a wide selection of rarities from the past (demos, live recordings, acoustic versions), also includes three new and fresh tracks. The group also decided to make a reunion one-off performance at the Night of the Prog festival in Lorelei in 2019!

All recordings were remastered by Eroc, the former drummer of Grobschnitt who is nowadays a renowned sound engineer working on recordings by Gentle Giant, Spooky Tooth and Klaus Schulze, among others. Album is complemented with a booklet containing a new liner notes, lyrics and rare photographs.
